Francesco Clerici

Biography
Francesco Clerici graduated in History and Art Criticism from the Università Statale di Milano. Il gesto delle mani, his debut film, won the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique (FIPRESCI) Award at the Berlinale in 2015. His works, which include augmented reality projects, video installations, short films, web series, books, experimental films, and documentaries, have been showcased at festivals worldwide, including the London Film Festival, the Viennale, the Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal (RIDM), the Dok.fest in Munich, Dok Leipzig, the Berlinale, the Sarajevo Film Festival, and many others.
His works have also been exhibited at institutions such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the British Film Institute in London, the Irish Film Institute in Dublin, the Cineteca Mexicana in Mexico City, the Center for Documentary Cinema in Moscow, the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Barbican, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (MART), the Dundee Contemporary Arts Center, the National Museum of 21st Century Arts (MAXXI) in Rome, and Palazzo Reale in Milan. His latest documentary films, La paz del futuro (co-directed with Luca Previtali) and Enrico Cattaneo. Rumore Bianco (co-directed with Ruggero Gabbai), were presented at the Rome Film Fest in 2022, while his experimental short film Even Tide won the Special Jury Prize at the Torino Film Festival in 2023.
