Antonio La Camera

Biography
Antonio La Camera (1990), after graduating in Cinema and Visual Arts at Roma Tre University with a grade of 110 cum laude, attended directing and screenwriting courses at the Sentieri Selvaggi film school and was later admitted to the High Specialization Course in Film Direction Fare Cinema, directed by Marco Bellocchio and taught by the Manetti Bros. His short films have been showcased at over 150 national and international festivals, winning more than 40 awards worldwide. In 2022, he was admitted to the CreatorsLab, where he directed the Italian-Spanish short film Las memorias perdidas de los árboles under the supervision of Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The short film premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival (2023) as part of the 38th International Critics’ Week, winning the Best Short Film Award. Subsequently, the short film was presented at prestigious festivals qualifying for the Academy Awards, European Film Awards, and Goya Awards, including the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI), the Drama International Short Film Festival, the Tirana International Film Festival, the Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris, and the São Paulo International Short Film Festival - Curta Kinoforum. It was also pre-selected for the 2025 Goya Awards. His first feature film project, Demoni & Polvere, was selected for the 2024 In Progress development workshop of the Milano Film Network, where it was developed under the guidance of Michelangelo Frammartino. He is currently working on the post-production of his short film Primo sangue, and in 2025, he was selected for the Spring Academy of the Locarno Film Festival, where he directed a short film under the guidance of Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel.
