Frank Mukunday
Biography
Frank Mukunday was born in Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He developed a passion for animated cinema and worked on various projects with many Congolese animators. In 2007, he created a collective with Tétshim, Angelo Nzeka and Trésor Makong, with whom he still works today. In 2010 Frank Mukunday and Tétshim began as self-taught filmmakers, making short animated films and they founded the “Crayon de cuivre” studio in Lubumbashi. After two experimental short films, Cailloux and Kukinga, they made Machini, which was presented at the Biennale of Lubumbashi and then selected for the Festivals of Clermont Ferrand and Rotterdam in January 2020.
