Costanza Burstin
Biography
Costanza Burstin is a visual anthropologist and Italian documentary-maker who lives in London. After studying Anthropology of development at SOAS, University of London, she worked in total communities in Rajasthan (India) on questions of gender and the environment. In 2018 she specialized in visual research and filmmaking at the Visual Anthropology centre of Goldsmiths, University of London, during which she directed and produced her first documentary Paani. Of women and water. This film – which documents the relationship between women and water in a village in the Rajasthan desert – was subsequently selected by a number of international film festivals and presented at COP24 (Annual conference of the United Nations on Climate Change). Today Costanza works in London, Paris, Milan and India as a documentary-maker and independent researcher.
