Biography
Matteo Tortone was born in1982. After having studied the Arts at the University of Turin, he worked in the field of the creative documentary as author, producer and director of photography. In 2011, he won the Jury’s Prize at the Kazan Film Festival with White Men, co-directed with Alessandro Baltera, and in 214 the Prize for the Best Photography at the Krakow Film Festival with Rada, directed by Alessandro Abba Legnazzi. Since 2016 he has worked as a producer with Malfé Film. In 2018 he did the photography of After the crossing by Joel Akafou, presented in 2020 at the Berlinale Panorama. With the project of Mother Lode he won the Eurimages Lab Award (Agora Work in Progress TIFF2019), and the film was presented in the competition of the Critics’ Week at Venice in 2021.
