Renaud Barret was born in France in 1970 where he worked as a graphic artist and photographer. He went to Kinshasa for the first time when he was twenty and he has not left the city since then. He has made several self-produced documentaries and also worked as a producer of Congolese musicians. Système K was screened at the Berlinale in 2020.
