Sofia Alaoui
Biography
Of French and Moroccan descent, Sofia Alaoui grew up in Asia. After having studied and started her career in Paris as a screenwriter, she made some fiction short films, including Ghost Mode, and a documentary, Children of Nablus. In recent years she returned to Morocco. Qu’importe si les bêtes meurent was presented at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020, where it won the Grand Prix of the Jury. She is currently about to make a short film produced by 20th Century Fox and is in the phase of production development of her first feature film.
