Suhaib Gasmelbari was born in Sudan in 1979. He studied film at the University of Paris VIII. He wrote and directed a number of short films, both fiction and documentaries. Talking About Trees is his first features film, He is also a researcher and takes part in local and international projects aimed at restoring and digitizing Sudanese films, including the works of his film’s main characters: Ibrahim Shaddad, Suliman Ibrahim and Altayeb Mahdi.
