This year the Festival Center is part of a work in progress by Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama, who during the course of the event will create a work that will involve both Caselli Daziari of Porta Venezia. The installation A Friend, commissioned by Fondazione Nicola Trussardi and produced in collaboration with miart, will open on April 2 during Milan Art Week. For centuries Porta Venezia has been one of the main access gates to the city, marking the boundary of the urban territory and contributing to define the topography of Milan. Mahama’s installation aims to trigger a reflection on the very concept of threshold, that place of passage that defines the inside and the outside, the self and the other, the friend and the enemy.
