Synopsis
Kwame, a young man in today’s Madagascar, to earn a living accepts heavy laboring jobs, for example in a sapphire mine. A traumatic event in the mine leads him to think about his condition and the injustices of his country and to salvage the memory of his father, a musician and political activist, who disappeared during a demonstration in the turbulent 1970s. Gradually he also feels the instinct for rebellion and the desire to fight rekindled in him.

Biography
Luck Razanajaona is a director, screenwriter and producer from Madagascar. He has taken part with his film projects in Berlinale Talents, Rotterdam Lab and La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde in Cannes. In 2013 his first short, Madama Esther, was selected for the competitive section of the Festival du Court-métrage de Clermont-Ferrand and then received awards at many festivals all over the world. His debut feature film, Disco Afrika, was selected for the Berlinale 2024 in the Generation 14plus section.
