Synopsis
A sentimental comedy of autobiographical inspiration. After having lost her mother in a fatal car accident in 2001, her grief-stricken daughter travels back in time to the year 1981 and becomes her mother’s closest friend. To repair the mistakes made in the present, the daughter does everything possible to make her happy in the hope of giving her a better life than the one she actually had. With takings at the box-office of $825 million, the film beats the world record for the most successful film made by a woman.

Biography
Jia Ling was born in Xiangyang, in the province of Hubei in China: she is a performer, a comedian, an actress and director who became famous after appearing at the New Year’s Gala in 2010, the show broadcast every year in China for the Chinese New Year. Today she produces her films with her own production company, Big Bowl Entertainment. Hi, Mom is her directing debut, an adaptation of one of her comedy sketches staged in 2016 for the Spring Gala.
