Synopsis
A coming-of-age story of two sisters through the summer visits to New Mexico to their father Vicente, a man with an unstable temperament. Vicente builds a universe made of wonder and lightheartedness for them, but this facade hides a battle against an addiction which gradually dissolves the magic and drags them into increasingly difficult situations. It is a complex bond, suspended between love and grief, destined to mark them forever.

Biography
Alessandra Lacorazza is a queer Colombian American writer-director and editor based in Brooklyn. Their work deals with personal and cultural memory and incorporates themes of alienation and resilience. Their debut feature In the Summers won the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where Alessandra also took home the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award. They were a 2020 screenwriting fellow with Writers’ Guild of America-East and Film Nation. Their work has been supported by New York Film Academy and The Future of Film Is Female (FOFIF). Alessandra is currently working on their next script.
