Synopsis
Gabriel, Isabel and Firmino live the daily life in the community of immigrants from Cape Verde in Lisbon. The film explores their bond with the past and the way they cope with the distance from their homeland, together with the challenges of urban life. Their flight from reality takes shape in ‘portals’ which reconnect them with their roots: a small field of corn, Cape Verde traditions, dreams and memories.
