Synopsis
Lucio has not obtained a university teaching position and feeling bitter, he returns to the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where he was born, to work as a supply teacher in a class of marginalized children. Lucio’s father has also worked for some time in the neighbourhood in support of the community. When a scandal breaks out over drug trafficking in the school, Lucio and some pupils find themselves involved, with a sequence of adrenaline-boosting events, in a violent feud between two corrupt politicians: the present-day mayor and the drug lord, El Perro.

Biography
Diego Lerman was born in Buenos Aires in 1976. In 2002, he made his first film, Tan de repente, which won the Silver Pardo in Locarno. In 2006 Mientras tanto was presented at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice and in 2007 his documentary Servicios prestados was selected by Locarno. His next films, La mirada invisible (2010) and Refugiado (2014), had their world premieres at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes. In 2017 Una especie de familia won the prize for the Best Screenplay in San Sebastian.
